Ravel’s enchanting Mother Goose Suite brings the magic of fairy tales to life, while Tchaikovsky’s musical travelogue, Souvenir de Florence, evokes the sights and sounds of Italy. Richly interwoven harmonies characterize Richard Strauss’s glowing Sextet, the curtain-raiser to the final scene of his last opera, Capriccio.
