Outside of music, Max enjoys cooking, eating, reading about history and politics, and walks in nature.
- Career Highlights:
Mr. Tan's 2019 summer season included chamber music performances at Sunset ChamberFest (Los Angeles), Music@Menlo, Universal Artists Festival (Boston), and additional concerts in Finland and Taiwan. Highlights of the 2019-2020 season include recital debuts and arts outreach in China (Shanghai, Tianjin) as well as additional chamber music projects focusing on a study of the Brahms literature and French music of Faure, Saint-Saens, and Chausson (Sarasota and New York City). Mr. Tan will also appear at his alma mater to solo with the Harvard Bach Society Orchestra (Boston).
Highlights of Mr. Tan's 2018-2019 season included multiple performances of the Elgar Violin Sonata which celebrated its centennial with the end of World War I. Mr. Tan was featured on WNYC/WQXR in recital and chamber music performances and gave recitals at the Harvard Musical Association and at Flagey in Brussels, Belgium at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition where he soloed with the Orchestre Royal de Chamber de Wallonie.

An active teacher, Shawna finds enjoyment in fostering the talents of the young violinists in her studio. She loves to spend time with her family, including her three beautiful children, Preston, Julian, and Angelique, and travel the world making music.

Along with her love for classical performance, Shawna frequently enjoys opportunities to work in other musical genres with many amazing artists. She has performed with Renee Fleming, Andrea Bocelli, Audra McDonald, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Johnny Mathis, Barry Manilow, Mary J. Blige, Jackie Evancho, David Foster, Paul Anka, Bernadette Peters, Celtic Thunder, CeeLo Green, Peter Cetera of Journey, Paul Oakenfold, Celtic Women, 2 Cellos, and The Irish Tenors.

Margot's true passion is music – it has led her path in life. When she's not playing the violin, she also enjoys cycling and running. Yoga often helps her recover if she's overworked herself. Before moving to America, Margot used to model in Poland and won the beauty pageant in her home region. Margot is married to a professional champion golfer. They love to golf and travel the world, seeking out unknown places.
- Career Highlights:
Some of Margot's greatest musical accomplishments include graduating from Indiana University School of Music and winning the permanent violin position with Sarasota Orchestra. She is also so proud of her father who was a musician and the dean of the music conservatory where she graduated, and her mother who is a mezzo-soprano and still sings actively and teaches voice.
