Biography
Sam started playing jazz bass at the age of 13 and joined his first orchestra when he was 15. Prior to joining Sarasota Orchestra, he was a member of the Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Opera orchestras and served in the bass section of the Grant Park Music Festival in the summer of 2023.

Instrument: Sam plays on a modern instrument made by Chris Threlkeld in 2010.
Education: Sam studied at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Indiana University, and the McDuffie Center for Strings. His primary teachers include Jeffrey Turner, Daniel Tosky, Jeffrey Weisner, Paul Johnson, and Paul DeNola.
Passions and Interests: Sam enjoys playing electric bass and spending time at the beach.
