Beach and Water Music

Festival Saturday 2

June 13, 2020

Saturday | 7:30 pm | Sarasota Opera House
Tickets from $31 | Seat Layout

This concert showcases the music of early 20th century American romantic composer Amy Beach.  Her lush work for flute and string quartet will feature Grammy-nominated, flutist Nathalie Joachim. Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw Stucco and Brocatelle is reminiscent of the Baroque period. Air on the G string is one of the most serene pieces Bach wrote and will be followed by Bach’s glorious Double Concerto for Oboe and Violin featuring faculty artists Allan Vogel and Jennifer Frautschi. French Baroque master Jean Phillippe Rameau’s deeply moving work from his opera Les Boréades will be followed by Handel’s jubilant Water Music.
