Leona Liu | Violin

Leona Liu is currently pursuing undergraduate studies in violin with Robin Scott at the Eastman School of Music. She is a recent winner of the 2024 Nico Toscano Young Musician Competition and has attended summer festivals at Bowdoin, Lake George, Sarasota, Madeline Island, and the Maine Chamber Music Seminar. Her trio was selected for three consecutive semesters to perform on Eastman's Honors Chamber Music recitals, and advanced to the finals of the 2025 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. Leona has been fortunate to receive chamber coachings and masterclasses by members of the Ying Quartet, JACK Quartet, Borromeo Quartet, Horszowski Trio, and Eighth Blackbird. As a supporter of living composers, Leona has served on the board of OSSIA New Music for two years. Besides music, she is also pursuing a BA in linguistics and minor in math at the University of Rochester.
