Hung-Yu (Yoyo) Lin is currently pursuing a Performance Studies Certificate in cello performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under Jennifer Culp where she also earned her master of music and bachelor of music degrees studying under Jean-Michel Fonteneau. In 2023, Yoyo attended the Aspen Music Festival and studied under Richard Aaron. Other festival experience includes the Kronos Festival with SFJAZZ, the Heifetz Institute of Music, the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, and the Academy on a full fellowship in Japan, the Encore Chamber Music Festival, and more. Yoyo is also passionate about musical instruction and mentorship for underserved youth musicians in the Bay Area and beyond, and is a teaching artist for SFCM's BAM project, tutor for theory courses, and volunteer with the California Academy of Science. She enjoys connecting with the community through music. Yoyo began her cello studies with Meijuan Liu, who she credits with establishing her love for the cello in Shanghai.
