Born in South Korea, Chaewon Kim had her debut at age seven with Gunsan City Symphony Orchestra. She continued her studies at Yewon School and Seoul Art High School and was the concertmaster at the Seoul Arts High School's 60th anniversary concert. As a soloist, she has collaborated with Dallas Chamber Symphony, Jeonju City Symphony Orchestra, Sung-Nam City Symphony Orchestra. She was the winner at the MBC Busan Music Competition and recently won third prize at The Dallas International Violin Competition with Bartók's Violin Concerto No.2. She is now pursuing her second year of Master of Musical Arts at Yale University under Professor Tai Murray and has earned Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School and Bachelor degree at Seoul National University.
