As director of education, Alyson oversees all aspects of the Orchestra’s educational offerings, shaping programs that engage students, educators, and the wider community. With multiple degrees in performance, music education, and arts administration, Alyson brings a comprehensive perspective that bridges artistic excellence with meaningful learning experiences. Deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians and informed audiences, Alyson leads educational efforts that inspire excellence, curiosity, and lasting engagement with orchestral music.

Hometown: Port Charlotte, FL
First year with Sarasota Orchestra: 2005
Education and Experience: She holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education and trumpet performance and a Master of Arts in administration and trumpet performance, along with minors in math, computer science, management information systems, and computers in music research.
Favorite piece of music: With so many wonderful pieces to choose from, Alyson says it's hard to select one, but her current favorite is Janáček's Sinfonietta.
