Anne Pinkerton hails from Wilmett, IL and attended the Colburn Conservatory for oboe performance. Anne was originally admitted to and planning to attend the 2020 Festival, when it was cancelled due to COVID. She shares that she appreciated the opportunity to have a masterclass by Zoom in June of 2020, but nothing replaces the in person experience, as Anne describes it: "in rehearsals, on stage, or at the beach!"
"I’m so excited to work with the faculty at the Festival. I’m especially looking forward to the opening Friday concert where I’ll be playing the Nielsen Wind Quintet. I love that the piece features each instrument and highlights their unique characteristics, as well as having an oboe part that includes English horn," shares Anne.
"It will be great for me to continue to work on the skill of collaboration through chamber playing here at the festival, by working together closely in our small groups on the musical details of each piece," said Anne.
We asked Anne about one non-musical thing she would like to share. Her response?
"I love hedgehogs! When I was younger I had a pet hedgehog named Hubert. They’re my absolute favorite animal. You may see me around the Festival with hedgehog stickers, earrings, etc and I can’t wait to adopt another hedgehog friend in the future."
