Powerhouse violinist Vadim Gluzman performs Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, with two of Dvořák’s best-loved works embracing the stunning showpiece: the "New World" Symphony and Carnival Overture.

Embark on a new journey as Sarasota Orchestra welcomes six-time GRAMMY Award-winning conductor Giancarlo Guerrero in his first performance as music director designate. With a wide-ranging program of both old and new favorites, Guerrero sets a tone of adventure for this next chapter in the orchestra's history. He is joined by internationally acclaimed violinist Vadim Gluzman performing Tchaikovsky's stunningly virtuosic Violin Concerto. The works of two extraordinary American composers, Jennifer Hidgon and Adolphus Hailstork, transport you to locales both reverent and celebratory. The Pines of Rome, Respighi's cinematic homage to the Roman countryside, provides a thrilling send-off for our Orchestra's bold journey toward an inspiring future.

This concert was previously titled Sounds of Nature and was to be conducted by Rune Bergmann. However, Rune has graciously accepted an offer to join us in the future so that Music Director Designate Giancarlo Guerrero can begin his work in Sarasota
