Goeres is the principal bassoon with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She was former principal with the Cincinnati Symphony, Caracas Philharmonic, Florida Orchestra and Sarasota Orchestra. Her chamber performances have been at the Tanglewood, Marlboro, Mainly Mozart and La Jolla Festivals, and New York's 92nd Street Y Chamber Music Series. Goeres toured with Musicians from Marlboro and was in the 1993 premier of the Zwilich Bassoon Concerto, specially commissioned for her by the Pittsburgh Symphony Society. Currently, she is a faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University and the Aspen Music Festival. Goeres attended the Sarasota Music Festival as a student from 1970-1972.
