Master of Music and Bachelor of Music – The Juilliard School

Florida native Priscilla Rinehart comes to Sarasota from Miami Beach, where she was a Fellow at the New World Symphony. Priscilla is honored to play in the Sarasota Orchestra horn section and looks forward to the season ahead. This year she performed for the first time with Chineke! Orchestra in London, Sphinx Symphony Orchestra in Detroit and Gateways Music Festival in Rochester, NY. All three organizations seek to inspire cultural variety in the representation of classical music through programming choices and dynamic concerts.

Priscilla has many people to thank for their support, but special recognition goes to Carolyn Wahl of The Florida Orchestra for teaching her from day one through the present, and to Erik Ralske and Jen Montone (Principal Horns of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and The Philadelphia Orchestra, respectively), as major mentors during her undergraduate and graduate studies at The Juilliard School.

Priscilla enjoys walks on the beach with her mother, going to the movies, practicing yoga, and salsa dancing.

Career Highlights:
Priscilla's favorite musical moments include playing Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz in Carnegie Hall with the New World Symphony, and her entire first orchestra performance as a member of Sarasota Orchestra.

Literally gripping the arms of my seat, I was not the only one propelled on this rollercoaster of delightful music.

Every section and soloist within the orchestra played their role with strength and beauty; every tree proud and tall. Tali served as an excellent guide leading the forces with assured confidence. The overall sound was lush and, yes, intense just where it needed to be.

A lifetime of musical moments, cinematic in scope, gave every section of the orchestra a leading role at one time or another. Chief among them was the virtuosic solo of concertmaster Daniel Jordan.

Andrew Lane, the Orchestra’s Principal Pops Conductor, knows how to program a winning event and this concert had something for everyone. It also brought in a whole new audience that seemed dazzled by the performances.

The Sarasota Orchestra played a program this past weekend filled with so much color, it was like visiting the Louvre.

The performance... was exceptional, bringing new and stunning sonorities from a larger than usual Sarasota Orchestra under the dynamic leadership of Anu Tali.
