Music Moves Us: Chopin Recital

with Jeffrey Kahane

Chopin's extraordinary music for piano is showcased in this virtual performance by Jeffrey Kahane, Artistic Advisor to Sarasota Orchestra and Music Director of the Sarasota Music Festival. Chopin himself preferred performing in the intimate setting of Paris’ salons rather than grand concert halls, making the intimate, at-home setting of Jeffrey’s performance an especially appropriate place to experience this Romantic music. Three lushly harmonic Mazurkas and three sublime Nocturnes comprise the program for this special recital:

Mazurka in B-flat Minor, Op. 24. No. 4

Mazurka in C Minor, Op. 56 No. 3

Mazurka in C-sharp Minor, Op. 50 No. 3

Nocturne in F Major, Op. 15 No. 1

Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 55 No. 1

Nocturne in D-flat Major, Op. 27 No. 1

Beethoven's Ninth

Listen to Anu Tali conduct her final Masterworks concert as Sarasota Orchestra's Music Director, Sarasota Orchestra joins with the Choral Artists of Sarasota and Key Chorale to deliver the "Ode to Joy."

There is so much we can do musically and to support our community, even when we cannot come together in the performance hall. Please join us here for our journey of exploration.
