Jeffrey Kahane, Music Director

Chopin's Piano

Opening Night

May 30, 2020

Saturday | 7:30 pm | Holley Hall
Price Range $31 - $41
Duration 98 minutes with intermission

The Festival opens with an extraordinary showcase of works by Frédéric Chopin for piano, featuring Music Director Jeffrey Kahane.  Chopin preferred performing in the intimate setting of Paris’ salons rather than grand concert halls, making the intimate setting of Holley Hall an especially appropriate place to experience this romantic music. Three sublime Nocturnes, two Impromptus and the contemplative, yet heroic, Polonaise Fantasy comprise the first half of this special concert, with three Mazurkas and the monumental Sonata in B Minor closing this compelling program.
