FEATURING
PROGRAM
Natalie Helm, cello
Bharat Chandra, clarinet
Jennifer Best Takeda, violin
Music Director of the Sarasota Music Festival and world-renowned pianist Jeffrey Kahane joins three Sarasota Orchestra principal musicians for a program devoted to the intimacy of the sonata. Beethoven’s Third Cello Sonata is often noted as the first in history to give the cello and piano equal importance. Sarasota Orchestra’s Principal Cellist Natalie Helm brings this popular work to life. Bharat Chandra’s powerful clarinet voice will be heard in Brahms’ First Clarinet Sonata. Assistant Concertmaster Jennifer Best Takeda brings her artistry to Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne. Tuneful and witty, the "neo-Baroque" music is nothing short of brilliant.
