Yida An is currently studying with Brian Lewis at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. At UT, he has served as the concertmaster of the UT Symphony Orchestra and worked in the UT String Project. He also served as the concertmaster of the Berklee College of Music Symphony Orchestra. Yida has performed as a soloist with the Austin Civic Orchestra and with Tan Dun conducting The Orchestra Now. He has worked with Joan Tower on her Music Alive! curated concerts, with Leon Botstein conducting the Bard Music Festival, and with the Bard Chinese Ensemble. At the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in China, he traveled extensively with the CCOM Youth Symphony Orchestra and has participated in numerous performances including chamber music and solos with various orchestras. Before CCOM, he has collaborated and soloed with Chai Liang, leading the Accent Symphony Orchestra.
