Tong Li enjoys a versatile career in the Washington, D.C. area. A first violinist with the West Virginia Symphony, Tong also plays with the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center. She has also played with the Annapolis Symphony and the Syracuse Orchestra. Tong started to play the violin at the age of five and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music as a teenager. She received her bachelor's degree from the Eastman School of Music and her aster's degree from the University of Maryland. Tong was a fellow at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Spoleto Music Festival, and the National Orchestral Institute + Festival. Tong is also the manager of PopCulture Strings, a group that was recently hired to play at the Mexican Mother's Day celebration at the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.
