Ophir Dahari is a 19-year-old violinist pursuing an undergraduate degree in violin performance at the Jacobs School of Music. She currently studies with Grigory Kalinovsky. Previously, she studied violin with Jennifer Cappelli from age four. For 12 years, Ophir was a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, sitting as the CYSO's concertmaster. Ophir was also an active member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra's Chamber Orchestra from 2018 to 2023. In the summer of 2023, Ophir participated in the National Youth Orchestra of the USA. In 2022, she won the Paul Vermel Young Artist Award and performed with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in 2023. Ophir has performed in masterclasses led by Andrés Cárdenes and Mathias Tacke. In the summer of 2019, Ophir attended the HeifetzPEG program. Ophir has also volunteered in multiple community events at the Israeli Consulate of Chicago and performed on a Violin of Hope at the Holocaust Memorial Day service.
