Nadira Novruzov is a senior history major at Yale College and a first-year master's student in flute performance at the Yale School of Music, where she studies with Tara Helen O'Connor. Nadira is one of five people enrolled in Yale's B.A./M.M. program and is the only wind player. Nadira was the 2023 co-winner of the William Waite Concerto Competition and, as a result, made her international debut playing the Reinecke Flute Concerto on the Yale Symphony Orchestra's (YSO) 2023 tour of Mexico. Nadira has recently been a fellow of the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and the Round Top Festival Institute. This past summer, she interned at the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation doing archival research on oral histories. At Yale, Nadira loves playing in the YSO and working as a writing tutor.
