Misa Stanton is a 19-year-old violinist from Colorado and a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, studying with Sandy Yamamoto. She began her violin studies at the age of three, and her previous teachers include James Maurer, Jacqueline Maurer, and Christine Rewoliski. Misa made her solo debut in 2013 with the Littleton Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has soloed with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, the Lakewood Symphony Orchestra, the Broomfield Symphony Orchestra, and the Colorado Young Sinfonia. She has performed as the concertmaster of the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, and as a chamber musician, she has been featured on Colorado Public Radio Classical. In recent summers, she has attended music festivals including Encore Chamber Music Institute's Quartet Intensive and Summer Academy and Madeline Island Chamber Music. Aside from violin, she enjoys skiing, playing strategy board games, and trying new restaurants.
