Francisco Betancourt was born on November 4, 2004, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At the age of nine, he began playing the French horn at the Libre de Música de Caguas, with Joel Ruiz as his teacher. At the age of 17, Francisco participated in the Symphonic Experience program with the Puerto Rico Symphony, where he had the opportunity to play as a soloist. Currently, Francisco Betancourt studies at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music with teacher Joshua Pantoja. At the Conservatory, he was a member of the Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band. Currently, he freelances with the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborates with the Puerto Rico Symphony as an extra horn. He has also played with the International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico and the Fresno Summer Orchestra Academy. Francisco Betancourt hopes to collaborate with various orchestras around the world and amplify his knowledge of music.
