Dominic Luthje is currently a senior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a dual bachelor's degree in music performance and linguistics. Dominic has appeared as principal oboe of the University of Kentucky Wind Symphony and regularly performs with the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and Opera Orchestra, as well as various chamber ensembles. Dominic has appeared as a guest musician with the Centre College Orchestra, Cathedral of Christ the King, Calvary Baptist, and the Kentucky Music Educators Association’s All-State SATB Choir. As a fellow of the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, MasterWorks Music Festival, and National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, Dominic aspires to be a professional performer. Dominic was a recipient of the Lynn Markowitz Struttman and Lucarelli Oboe Performance scholarships, showcasing professional promise on the oboe. By deepening his interest in music theory, Dominic hopes to find connections between linguistics and music. Dominic's primary oboe teachers are Dr. ToniMarie Marchioni and Tamara Winston.
