Oboist Alexis Wilson’s musical journey began on the violin at age 8 and eventually led to her passion for the oboe. Alexis is currently studying at the Eastman School of Music with Richard Killmer as a junior Oboe Performance major, where she double majors in Psychology. She has been playing the oboe for nine years and has performed professionally with a number of ensembles in the Northwest Ohio region including the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and Stow Symphony. She won the Contemporary Youth Orchestra's concerto competition, and was a finalist in the Brevard Summer Music Festival Concerto Competition. Alexis has played in chamber ensembles since she began playing the oboe, and she is currently a member of a woodwind quintet and a soprano-oboe duo ensemble.
