Taiwanese-American cellist, Alex Wu, is a chamber and orchestral musician based in Baltimore. He debuted with the Warminster Symphony in 2010 and has since performed as a soloist with the Lansdowne, Old York, Penn State, and Southeastern Pennsylvania symphonies, among others. As a soloist, Alex is a recipient of the Brewster Endowment for music and was a semifinalist in the IXth Annarosa Taddei International Competition in Rome. As an orchestral musician, he performs with Symphony in C and has previously held positions in the New York String Orchestra Seminar and the National Youth Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has recently appeared at the Music Academy of the West, Caramoor International Music Festival, Mount Gretna Music Festival, and the Manchester Music Festival. Alex graduated from Penn State University and is currently a graduate student at the Peabody Institute under the tutelage of Alan Stepansky.
