Alex Heidt, 23, is a distinguished violinist from Tampa, FL. He is currently studying at Southern Methodist University (SMU) with the goal of receiving the prestigious performer diploma. Before SMU, Alex was an active freelance violinist throughout Florida and Georgia. While completing his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Central Florida, he served as a regular substitute violinist with orchestras such as the Naples Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, Coastal Symphony of Georgia, and more.
Alex has had the privilege of studying with internationally recognized violinists, such as Alexander Sitkovetsky, Diane Kitzman, Ross Monroe Winter, and Lauren Murphy. He has also extensively studied chamber music with Aaron Boyd, William Wolfram, Edward Arron, Sun-A Park, Chung Park, and Tao Lin.
In his time away from performing, Alex enjoys singing and playing Bach Chorales at the piano, listening to Strauss tone poems, and going for long runs.
