Yuri Ahn, Cello (Seoul, Korea), is currently studying with Yeesun Kim at New England Conservatory of Music pursuing her master's degree. She has lived in Boston for past 10 years and studied with Mark Churchill and Lluis Claret (New England Conservatory Preparatory School and BM). Yuri is the recipient of the Aaron Foundation - Charlotte and Irving Rabb Scholarship, New England Conservatory Preparatory String Orchestra teaching fellowship and merit scholarship. She premiered many works including Wayne Shorter's opera Inphiginia led by Esperanza Spalding, and she also performed orchestra music world wide as a principal player. Yuri is very passionate about teaching, as she has been a part of New England Conservatory Preparatory School where she leads orchestra sectionals and coaches chamber groups.
