Born in Taiwan in 2001, flutist Ann Kuo is currently studying at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, CA, where she studies with Jim Walker. She has received awards from numerous international competitions including the International Flute Competition Guangzhou, Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition, Biwako International Flute Competition, and National Taiwan Music Student Competition. Recently, she was named the Third Prize Winner in the National Flute Association Young Artists Competition. As a soloist, Ms. Kuo has performed concertos with the Mount Orchestra and Colburn Orchestra, as well as given recitals in Los Angeles and Taipei. Ms. Kuo has been a part of Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, Interlochen Arts Camp, Taipei Music Academy and Festival, and Sarasota Music Festival. Last Summer, Ms. Kuo was one of the two flute scholarship winners to participate at the Domaine Forget International Academy and Festival, and she was selected to perform a solo at the closing ceremony.
