Michelle Reed Baker

A member of the Sarasota Music Festival faculty since 2022

Michelle Baker was second horn of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra from 1990-2017. Prior, she was a member of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Baker currently serves as the Chair of Brass at Manhattan School of Music and Montclair State University, and is an Assistant Professor at The Juilliard School. She has performed several times with Michael Bublé and Sting, recorded and performed with James Taylor and Harry Connick, Jr., and can be heard on the soundtracks for several movies such as The Greatest Showman, The Good Shepherd, and True Grit. She joins the Sarasota Music Festival faculty this year.
