A member of the Sarasota Music Festival faculty since 2003

Nancy Ambrose King is an internationally recognized oboist, awarded first-prize of the 3rd New York International Competition for Solo Oboists, and with 10 solo recordings released on a variety of labels.Currently Professor of Oboe at the University of Michigan, she appears as soloist and guest artist worldwide, including as a member of the jury for the esteemed Barbirolli Competition. She was the first female President of the International Double Reed Society. King was awarded the University of Michigan’s prestigious Stanley Medal upon graduation, and received the 2010 Hall of Fame Award. She received her DMA and MM from the Eastman School of Music.
