Prepare for liftoff. Our “out-of-this-world” musical odyssey begins with Mozart’s 41st and final symphony. This commanding work is a testament to Mozart’s legacy with its genius, perfection, and expressiveness. It is aptly titled the Jupiter symphony as the final capstone of one of the undisputed giants of classical music. Journey through the solar system with Holst’s massive tone poem, The Planets. Belligerent Mars provides a stirring opening with its percussive intensity. Joined by the beauty of Venus, jocular Mercury, jovial Jupiter, wise Saturn, formidable Uranus, and the enigmatic and alluring Neptune, this suite is one of the true gems of classical music. Conductor Thomas Wilkins -- having led a storied career spanning three decades -- is the perfect artist to lead this stellar performance.
