Andrew Lane, conductor
Bring your children and grandchildren along to this concert that will keep their imaginations so busy they may not even realize they are enjoying some of the most lauded symphonic music ever written.
The program opens with the first movement of perhaps the best known piece of western music, the ridiculously famous opening four notes of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony: "ta da da daaa."
Then, Maestro Lane and the Orchestra will take the audience on a wild ride with Matthew Naughtin’s Rollercoaster. The music will serve as the thrilling soundtrack for video footage taken from the front seat of SeaWorld Orlando’s Kraken, one of the fastest and most exciting rollercoasters in the world.
The program closes with Peter and the Wolf. The strings give voice to a little boy named Peter who lives in a forest clearing with his grandfather. This beloved composition introduces young audiences to the magic of musical storytelling as they experience Peter’s adventures with a wolf on the prowl in Prokofiev’s timeless masterpiece.
