SARASOTA WIND QUINTET
Our gifted Sarasota Wind Quintet will shine in David Maslanka’s powerful composition that showcases the interplay between the horn and four woodwind instruments. Maslanka is a modern yet tonal composer especially known for his pieces for wind ensembles. When last performed in 2003, the reviewer reported that “audience members were drawn unanimously to the edges of their seats.” Bruch’s String Octet features four violins, two violas, cello and the unusual addition of the double bass.
