MUSICAL POSTCARD

Dirk Meyer, conductor
November 18, 19, 20 & 21 Holley Hall

Pack your bags for a musical expedition! Travel Around the World in 80 Days with Duke Ellington’s exotic Caravan, experiencing musical destinations like Brazil and Espagna. We’ll also take in Schönberg’s great Broadway musical Miss Saigon and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence. This is one journey you won’t want to miss.

ALL THAT GLITTERS

Leif Bjaland, conductor
December 16, 17, 18 & 19 Holley Hall

Join us as we celebrate the joy of the year’s most glittering season with familiar holiday favorites and Glenn Miller’s shimmering Moonlight Serenade. Also on this sparkling program are Goldfinger from the James Bond movies, Lehar’s delightful Gold and Silver Waltz, and one of the crown jewels of American musical theatre: Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot.

I'LL BE SEEING YOU

Dirk Meyer, conductor
February 3, 4, 5 & 6 Holley Hall

This program of familiar love music includes a tribute to “Ol’ Blue Eyes” Frank Sinatra himself, as you enjoy Strangers in the Night, That’s Life, The Lady is a Tramp and I’ve Got You Under My Skin. We’ll prove that musical parting can be such sweet sorrow, with Haydn’s Farewell Symphony. The Orchestra awakens Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky) with a kiss before performing The Girl I Left Behind and Dark Eyes.

THE GREEN, GREEN GRASS OF HOME

Andrew Lane, conductor
March 10, 11, 12 & 13 Holley Hall

Whether you are from near or far, this concert will have you reminiscing about the place you call home. The Orchestra performs My Old Kentucky Home, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, My Wild Irish Rose, America the Beautiful and highlights from the musical Finian’s Rainbow. You’ll also be transported back to the fields of Europe with Edward Grieg’s Norwegian Dances.

MONA LISA

Dirk Meyer, conductor
April 7, 8, 9 & 10 Holley Hall

Come linger in the Shadow of Her Smile as we celebrate great beauties past and present. Whether it’s Debussy’s ravishing Girl with the Flaxen Hair or Cy Coleman’s brassy Sweet Charity, one thing is for certain, A Pretty Girl really Is Like A Melody!

BEYOND THE BLUE HORIZON

Dirk Meyer, conductor
May 5, 6, 7 & 8 Holley Hall

Isn’t it time to broaden your musical horizons? Opportunities like this come only once in a Blue Moon – so don’t miss the Blue Skies this program offers. You’ll have to duck for cover to avoid Stormy Weather and contemplate the Music Of The Spheres. Then, for the truly adventurous, the Orchestra will take you on a Star Trek to the outer limits of the galaxy.
