Sasha von Dassow – Conductor

Sasha von Dassow is a cellist, conductor, and teacher. A longtime resident of Sarasota, he is a faculty member and Orchestra Director at Manatee Community College, the Music Director of the North Port Orchestra, a member of the cello section of The Florida Orchestra, (Tampa Bay), and is often seen in various area performances. Most recently, his playing can be heard on the award-winning children's CD, "Music Tales" with MOB (Musicians Out of the Box), a string quartet, "Thesis Statement" with Silas Durocher and Everybody Knows, a rock band. Mr. von Dassow has premiered a variety of pieces from local composers like Rex Willis, Ted Dollarhide, and others. His performances can also be heard on recent soundtracks for independent movies "Ghosts of Ybor" and "Southernmost Point".
