Age you began playing an instrument: I started playing the piano at age 7 and switched to oboe at age 9 with my elementary school band program.
Award / Musical Accomplishment you are most proud of: Winning the audition to become a member of the Sarasota Orchestra!
Style and make of your instrument: I play a Loree
oboe with an AK bore that I got in 2006. Oboes "blow out" after only a
few years of use, so I just purchased a brand new Loree AK in August. I
am still breaking it in, but I hope it will make its Sarasota stage
debut in December.
Hobbies / interests: Trying out new recipes I find
on one of the many food blogs I follow, throwing overly elaborate
parties so that all of my friends and I can eat said food, crossword
puzzles, the quest for the perfect latte.
