Barbara Simon

Vice President of Development

Joined the Orchestra in 2001

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN, with most of her life spent in the New York area

Barbara is responsible for the cultivation, motivation and stewardship of existing patrons and potential donors to the Sarasota Orchestra. She also establishes and executes the Orchestra’s overall development plan, which includes Annual Giving, Foundation and Corporate support, Planned and Endowment Giving, and special events. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Emerson College and a Masters degree from New York University.

“My passion has always been music and dance, with an emphasis on the classical, as both of my grandmothers were concert pianists and my personal study of piano started early with a concentration on the classical.”
